Ebony Woods, Wenonah High SChool Graduate (c/o 2022)
“Our team is delighted to announce Ebony Woods as one of four 2022 DUBS Foundation Excellence First Scholarship recipients. With several accolades such as being a member of the National Honor Society, being on honor roll numerous times, and being a participant in several athletic/scholar clubs, Ebony has proven to be a determined young woman with a future that will surprise us all. Ebony's dedication to her family and community has fueled her goal of majoring in Psychology at Emory University in an effort to accomplish her mission of "paying love forward". As she joins other first generation students this year, she strives to improve upon herself from the help of her loving family. She aims to use her degree to work in digital marketing, helping nonprofits and those from diverse backgrounds succeed in their goals. Kylan Benson, Ramsay High School Graduate (c/o 2022)
“We are so excited to be awarding Kylan Benson with our scholarship! Valedictorian of his class, Kylan will be attending Harvard in the fall and plans to major in Government with a focus on International Relations. He is a passionate and self possessed young man who is eager to learn more and serve his community. Throughout high school he participated in the IB program and became the president of the Youth in Government club among all his other achievements. Kylan is also an excellent public speaker after many years on the debate team. He enjoys cooking with his Grandmother and is a fan of Sci-fi and Fantasy series like Avatar the Last Airbender and Game of Thrones. Dalia Almansoob, Homewood High School Graduate (c/o 2022)
“We are delighted to present Dalia Almansoob as one of our 2022 DUBS Foundation Excellence First Scholarship recipients. She is a bright student who illustrates unrelenting perseverance in all parts of her life. Dalia has a passion for language and cultural diversity and loves to connect with people through cuisine and conversation. Her artistic creativity is highlighted through both her high school involvement in the yearbook committee and her love for photographing nature. Fueled by her interest in healthcare, service, and science, she will be attending Samford University this fall with plans to become a pharmacist and focus on patient education.
